The first step is to use a white rag and blot the stain from the outside in, so not to make the stain any bigger than it already is. Be sure to absorb as much of the liquid as possible in this step, it will make it easier as you start the next few steps. Be sure to use a white rag or white paper towels, this is so you can see the amount of coffee that is being soaked up into the rag. If the coffee stain has already dried then you can skip this step.

Next you need to flush the area with clean lukewarm water. Pour it carefully as to not cause the stain to spread. Take a fresh white rag and blot the area from the outside in again.
